Santa Monica Public Library’s acclaimed Soundwaves new music series travels to the Edye Theater at the Broad Stage, for a very special show. This is Soundwaves’ third co-production with the internationally recognized Cold Blue label. This concert features performances of three extraordinary works by some of LA’s top players.

Darkness and Scattered Light” was written for five basses by John Luther Adams. Christopher Roberts’Flying” is the second piece on the program. Drawn from his “Trios for Deep Voices,” it takes inspiration from nature sounds and movements Roberts observed while living in the Papua New Guinea jungle in the 1980s. The concert concludes with the world premiere of “Tiny Thunder,” by Nicholas Chase, for two players on one piano, performed by Brian Pezzone and Jennifer Logan.

Note: Edye Second Space is directly behind the BroadStage. Free parking is available in the lot directly in front of the theaters.
