From field holler to free voice, the jazz singer has evolved over time to include a wide variety of styles. This concert celebrates the jazz singer. Kellye’s ‘voice as instrument’ brand illustrates the jazz vocal artist in all it’s different forms. She can blow hard, scatting and be-bopping along with the cats while swinging so hard you can’t help but move to the beat. Her phrasing and improvisation nurtures each word breathing life into the lyrics. And, she can take you all the way down to the bottom of the blues.
