Dan Tepfer was classically trained from an early age while obsessively improvising on the piano, so it is no surprise that he has emerged as a gifted artist who finds inspiration and innovation between two musical worlds. For his San Francisco Performances debut Tepfer performs his revelatory take on Bach’s aria with 30 variations, after each of which he plays his own jazz variation.
