International Theatre Training is tailored for actors, dancers, circus performers, choreographers, and directors—performing arts practitioners with professional stage experience across various genres, techniques, and styles. It is ideal for those looking to sharpen their professional skills and explore new international networking opportunities. The training emphasizes intensive physical work and explores key questions such as: What makes a performance interesting? How can we be more engaging on stage?

What is the curriculum?

This workshop aims to equip theater makers and storytellers from various disciplines with new tools to refine their performance capabilities:

  • Participants learn to perform physical actions like tripping and falling safely, along with expressive techniques such as takes and slow burns.
  • The training focuses on stillness, specificity, and developing an acute awareness of the audience. Performers will be able to understand what makes a performance boring or interesting and how to effectively shift focus among performers on stage.
  • This program is concerned with common challenges performers face, such as lack of inspiration, storytelling in compelling ways, and dynamic stage entry. It also includes techniques for warming up the body from head to toe and managing focus during performances.
