Nicholas Chase’s “Hai_ku 2.3” will be broadcast at the Ars Akusmatica Concert Series, Münster Earport (MEbU) in Münster. The series is dedicated to experimental and classical acousmatic/electroacoustic music. It is curated by Ulrike Mayer-Spohn and Javier Hagen (UMSnJIP) and Simone Conforti (IRCAM, Paris) for Münster Earport. Concerts presenting a selection of international composers take place on the 20th and 21st of January, 2024.
Hai_ku 2.3 is the 6th of a 6-cut project Chase created under the pen-name “Lexx Vector.” The highly rhythmic works consist of percussive and quasi-melodic materials sourced strictly from radio white noise, a concept Chase developed in conjunction with Illuminated Corridor and Neighborhood Public Radio for the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
