Musas: Uncovering Lost Piano Works by Latin American Women Composers from Gabriela Calderón Cornejo is a piano solo recital with commentary on the album and anthology Musas which strives to uncover and highlight a collection of at-risk compositions by Latin American women born before 1950. Q&A will be available after the performance.

A native of Costa Rica, Gabriela Calderón Cornejo plays as a solo performer, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. Her work in rediscovering, adapting and promoting previously undigitized works by Latin American female composers has been featured at international conferences and concert series culminating in the release of her first studio album and anthology Musas.

Currently, she works as a faculty member at CSMA and serves as a board member for the Cayambis Institute for Latin American Studies in Music (CILASiM) and the Branch Recital Director for the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) – San Mateo County.
