The Overlook returns to GatherNYC to present composer Douglas J. Cuomo’s meditative and ecstatic work Seven Limbs for string quartet and improvised saxophone, with the legendary Grammy-winner Joe Lovano. A Tibetan Buddhist method of purifying the mind, allowing it to become more patient, peaceful, loving, and compassionate, Seven Limbs brings concertgoers closer toward a spiritual ideal through Cuomo’s music. Guests at GatherNYC, a revolutionary Sunday morning concert experience, are served exquisite live classical music performed by New York’s immensely talented artists, artisanal coffee and pastries, a taste of spoken word, and a brief celebration of silence.
