Explore the artistry of Pablo Casado’s Arabic calligraphy, ignited by passion and nurtured through dedicated practice.

Casado, born in 1982 in Madrid, Spain, discovered the art of Arabic calligraphy in 2008 after attending an introductory course on nesih calligraphy. Mentored by Nuria García, he journeyed to Istanbul in 2009 to study under renowned calligraphers. Under their guidance, including master calligrapher Davut Bektas and Hassan Çelebi, he honed his skills. In 2014, Casado earned his icazet in sülüs and nesih styles from Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture, signed by Çelebi, Ferhat Kurlu, and García. Casado, dedicated to his craft, continues to frequent Istanbul to stay connected with his mentors and refine his work. His attraction to Arabic calligraphy culminated in a lifelong passion, driving him to pursue mastery under the tutelage of esteemed masters and through devoted practice.
