- Scott Pingal — bass
Our second set of Micro Concerts in the Joe Henderson lab will feature Scott Pingel, Principal Bassist for the San Francisco Symphony, performing an inspiring program of solo bass repertoire and improvisation. Previously Principal Bassist for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Pingel has had considerable experience in jazz, studying with the great Victor Wooten and performing with a number of master jazz artists including Michael Brecker and Geoffrey Keezer. In addition to his career as a virtuoso performer, Pingel is a devoted educator, having given master classes at schools such as the Julliard School, the Curtis Institute, the Manhattan School of Music, the University of Michigan, the Birmingham Conservatory of Music (UK) and the Beijing Central Conservatory. He currently serves on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
