This historic landmark building has a deep history and had many iterations before becoming a comedy club, including being Sunnyvale’s original bus stop, Andy Capp’s Tavern (The location of the beta test of Atari’s first video game, Pong) and then The Country Store, a favorite Sunnyvale tavern.
Then on January 8, 1984, The Country Store, which had been selling out comedy shows on off nights during the week for the prior five years—reopened as Rooster T. Feathers, a full-time comedy club. Today, Roosters is the host to national comics as seen on Netflix, The Late Show, The Tonight Show, HBO, Comedy Central and more! Stars of today such as Ali Wong, Anthony Jeselnik, Hasan Minhaj, Amy Schumer, Ms. Pat, Mark Normand, Michelle Wolf and Fortune Feimster (Yeah, we’re name dropping!) have entertained thousands of Rooster’s crowds. Not a cavernous hall or stuffy theater, Roosters offers an intimate setting where you can enjoy the funniest entertainers, live and up close, the way stand-up comedy was intended, right in the heart of Silicon Valley.
