Trumpeter Randy Brecker, saxophonist Tod Dickow, and the Bay Area-based ensemble honor the work of the late saxophonist Michael Brecker in an acoustic setting.
Their 2021 album, Live at the Baked Potato! Charged Particles with Tod Dickow Play the Music of Michael Brecker fully earned its exclamation point, catapulting the Bay Area band onto international stages. Built on the power trio led by drummer Jon Krosnick, a professor at Stanford and the director of the university’s Political Psychology Research Group, Charged Particles is equally formidable playing acoustic or electric, with veteran pianist/keyboardist Murray Low and supremely versatile bassist Aaron Germain.
