Celebrate the Ralph Chessé exhibition by designing and hand-making a paper puppet. Write, direct and act in a simple puppet video using your own phone and backdrop designed to look like a small movie studio.
Ramon Abad is a proud Filipino American puppeteer, artist, and teacher. Since the mid 90s, he has performed and directed puppet theater projects throughout the US and the UK. Ramon is currently a resident artist of Balay Kreative Studio, a collective of Filipinx American artists based in SOMA Pilipinas. Ramon was a member of Larry Reed’s ShadowLight Productions and toured in the Jim Henson International Puppetry Festival. He has collaborated on puppet projects with many community organizations including Bindlestiff Studio, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, SOMArts Cultural Center and the Children’s Creativity Museum.
