A versatile young vocalist and bandleader whose taste for classic jazz spans the 20s through the 40s, Stella Heath presents an evening of music “From Billie Holiday to Edith Piaf”. Holiday and Piaf had many parallels in their lives, from great success to great tragedy, and both had an ability to live in the depth and nuance of the songs they sang, carrying their audiences along with them. Stella showcases her love of American swing along with her love of French chanson and Jazz manouche with an all star band, featuring Bay Area accordionist Rob Reich, in the style of Django Reinhardt.
