Over our decades of making local theatre The Shotgun Players have come across some great performers from the Bay Area’s delicious subculture: solo artists, comedians, and wildly innovative performance collectives to name a few. It hasn’t always been easy to find a place for these inspiring performers in our mainstage season, but sometimes we have available nights and the bar is always open!
This summer Shotgun presents some bonus programming that combines the intriguing work of these exciting theatre artists into a month-long showcase from July 23 – August 19.

The San Francisco Neo-Futurists bring their award-winning show, The Infinite Wrench, to the Ashby Stage for a special East Bay performance featuring our beloved Amy Langer, former Shotgun Box Office Manager and long-time SF Neo-Futurists artist.
The Infinite Wrench is an on-going, ever-changing, raucous race-against-the-clock attempt to perform 30 hyper-short plays in 60 minutes. Join us on August 17 for a one-night-only special menu featuring 30 all-time favorite plays (out of the over 3,000 they’ve produced in the past ten years). Prepare for an evening of original plays that are tender and titillating, silly and sweaty, laugh out loud funny and big feelings poignant.
- Runtime: Approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission
Ashby Stage Sidewalk Session
Live pre-show music! Join us at 7 PM for an Ashby Stage Sidewalk Session featuring musician and actor Josh Pollock. Grab a drink at concessions and head outside to enjoy free live music before the Neos take the stage.
