During the month of March, we discover, illuminate and elevate voices of Bay Area women still unsung and yet to be sung, examining and celebrating the legacy of women who sing, play, compose, arrange and continue to pave the way for the next generation. All of these women are fine and accomplished musicians in their own right, meeting under the all-inclusive umbrella of jazz. Curated by pianist and SFJAZZ Lead Teaching Artist Tammy L. Hall, this Discover Jazz series takes us on a musical journey in our very own “backyard,” highlighting the work of female instrumentalists and vocalists who have carved their place in the fabric of the Bay Area.
