A veteran of work with Santana, Tito Puente, Herbie Hancock and countless others, Pete Escovedo is a respected bandleader and composer as well as the “first father” of Latin jazz, rearing a brood of acclaimed musicians including superstar Sheila E. Escovedo’s latest recording, Live From Stern Grove, brings the family together for an superb live performance, but there is nothing like experiencing a world-class salsa big band in the flesh. The Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra is one of the greatest salsa big bands working today, featuring an incredible multi-generational lineup of musicians that seamlessly blend African, Brazilian and Latin elements with the jazz tradition. Join us for a pulse-pounding night of salsa celebration with complimentary champagne, party favors and balloon drop at midnight, and bring your dancing shoes. The dance floor will be open!
