Presenting the best of the past, present and future of dance, this summer SFDanceworks dives deep into an exploration of identity, artistic lineage and humanity’s intrinsic connection to music with world and regional premieres by Alexander Anderson, Bryan Arias, Laura O’Malley, and Pam Tanowitz, as well as an excerpt of Jose Limon’s 1939 masterwork Danzas Mexicanas.

SFDanceworks has commissioned new works by Alexander Anderson, Bryan Arias and Laura O’Malley, as well as two works with live musical accompaniment. Gustave Le Gray, No. 1 is a ravishing and arresting work by Pam Tanowitz and Danzas Mexicanas is a modern dance classic by Jose Limon.
