In a moment when spiritual jazz has become a dangerously buzzy concept, trust a musician who has truly devoted his life to divination practices.
-New York Times

Nduduzo Makhathini is a pianist, composer, teacher, and music philosopher. He started singing gospel music in the Zion Evangelical Ministries of Africa in his teenage years in Umgungundlovu, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. He is a member of Shabaka Hutchings’ band Shabaka and the Ancestors appearing on their 2016 album Wisdom of Elders. He has also collaborated with Logan Richardson, Nasheet Waits, Tarus Mateen, Stefon Harris, Billy Harper, Azar Lawrence, and Ernest Dawkins.
