In Milaap, Belgian Maya is filmed while she tries to realize her dream to make a universal dance and music performance, together with her Indian friend Kathu. Not only the variety but the endless encounters between people, dance and music are the main theme in this documentary. The artistic process turns into an unpredictable road during which Maya faces confrontation with the limitations of her dreams, of other people, of friendship, but above all of herself.
Milaap – Musical Encounters
Milaap is the Hindi word for encounter. Seven musicians have been searching and continue looking for this milaap, both on an artistic and human level. They explored the differences between cultures, traditions and between past and contemporary times. Emotions as a universal human characteristic build the red thread of this performance. The artists take the audience on a journey through a whole range of feelings. Emotions also allow different systems and artistic backgrounds to be linked. Milaap wants to contribute positively to the globalization of our world.
Dance performance
Due to a knee injury of one of the dancers the dance performance will be postponed until the 14th of June 2014.
