TUNE IN (Siren Song will also be live-streamed at the Philadelphia Small Works Gallery.)
Siren Song is music for musicians to play with a public sound environment, specifically with the siren tests that come from Limerick Generating Station, a nuclear power plant in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania that provides power to nearly 2 million homes in the area. This siren tests for two minutes on the first Mondays in June and December.
- The first performance I gave of this piece was on June 5, 2023, and it was solo.
- This performance on June 3, 2024 is Siren Song as a chamber work, with strings and winds. It begins around 1:40 PM (ET), and we expect to hear the siren at 2 PM (ET).
