Ancient Future bandleader Matthew Montfort is offering a series of free introductory music workshops on Wednesdays at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance. Montfort is on the 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists list at DigitalDreamDoor.com along with luminaries like Michael Hedges and Merle Travis, and wrote the rhythm training manual Ancient Traditions – Future Possibilities, used at prestigious schools such as Berklee College of Music.
- FEB 21, 7 PM Beginning Guitar (This free introductory beginning workshop can help aspiring guitarists get started on the right track with good practice habits.)
- FEB 28, 7 PM Music Theory on the Fretboard (This free introductory workshop opens the door to exploring music theory on the guitar fretboard.)
- FEB 28, 7:45 PM Rise Above Reliance on TAB! Learn to Read Music by Studying Classical Guitar Technique (Guitarists are often good at reading TAB, but poor at reading sheet music.)
- MAR, 7 PM Got Rhythm? Get the Beats of Africa, Bali, and India (This workshop is a wonderful way to improve timing skills.)
