Vancouver Visual Art Foundation’s online art class series brings classes to your home by professional art instructors.

Since September, the Vancouver Visual Art Foundation has been hosting online art classes to foster fun creativity with people of all ages and skill levels.

Each month, we have invited talented artists from our incredible Art Vancouver alumni to teach their passion online!

Let your creativity blossom while painting a Still Life with Flowers using acrylic paint on canvas. Discover the joy of painting in bright colours, while using colour mixes from the 5 primary colours. Step by step guidance.

No painting skills required.

MATERIALS

Students are expected to provide their own supplies in order to participate.

  • Canvas 16” x 20″
  • 3 brushes; one flat, one round, and one small for details
  • Paints: 5 primary colours; Red, Yellow, Black, White, and Blue
  • Container for water
  • Paper towels
  • Masking tape
  • Varnish

Lauren Morris was born in Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Vancouver in 2000. She studied at the Cape Technikon as a graphic designer before moving on to pursue the Fine Arts. Lauren has also studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. and the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. For the past three years, Lauren has participated in the “Vancouver Eastside Culture Crawl” and “Artists in Our Midst”. Her other exhibits include, three group shows as well as a solo show at the “Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery”, a group show at the “Amelia Douglas Gallery” and a solo show at the “Jericho Arts Centre”. She has also participated in “Local” a pop up shop for upcoming artists. She lives and works in Vancouver B.C. and has recently started teaching art workshops.

The Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supported by its members, individual donors, corporate funders, foundations and the Province of British Columbia.
