The sculptural work of Annette Goodfriend, Ruth Tabancay, and Esther Traugot addresses the fragile interplay between the natural world, science, and humans. Annette Goodfriend uses epoxy, steel, and rubber, playing with surreal narratives of the challenged oceanic world. Ruth Tabancay focuses on environmental and ecological systems, using materials as varied as tea bags, thread, and yarn. Esther Traugot explores the fragility of nature, crocheting wrappings around found natural objects-bees, trees, urchins.
*Artist talk with Dr. Amber Mace, PhD of California Academy of Sciences on JUL 21 at 12 PM.
