Hailed by Yehudi Menuhin as “A true violinist of the 21st century,” Gilles Apap is celebrated for his virtuosity and joyful approach to performance. Apap blends classical music with genres like jazz and global folk, creating programming that uniquely merges musical styles. He rose to fame in the 1990s with his band, the Transylvanian Mountain Boys, who toured internationally. In our “carte blanche” concert, Gilles joins pianist Eric Zivian to perform Georges Enescu’s “Impressions D’enfance” before reuniting with the Transylvanian Mountain Boys for the first time since their 2012 album GYPSY TUNES (California Style, That Is).
