Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno and the remarkable mariachi band Flor de Toloache share this magical double bill.
With a voice that effortlessly blends blues, jazz, and soul, Gaby Moreno makes her SFJAZZ debut with this performance. Born and raised in Guatemala City, her breakthrough came with her 2008 debut album Still the Unknown, highlighting her powerful vocals and poignant songwriting. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Ricardo Arjona, Hugh Laurie, Omara Portuondo, and Van Dyke Parks, and she follows up her GRAMMY-winning 2023 acoustic hits session X Mí Vol. 1 with her 2024 Cosmica Artists release Dusk, taking listeners on a journey with original compositions incorporating elements of folk and psychedelic pop.
