San José Chamber Orchestra continues its 34th concert season with CELEBRATION – Joys and Delights in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San José, California. Glorious works to mark the changing of the year.
The program includes music by J.S. Bach, Chopin, Debussy, and a new work for the New Year by Michael Touchi. The program features conductor Barbara Day Turner and pianist Jon Nakamatsu with clarinetists Jon Manasse and Alec Manasse.
A reception and a sparkling toast will follow the performance.
Concert Program
- Pianist Jon Nakamatsu: Frédéric Chopin’s Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante in E-flat major, Op. 22 with orchestra.
- Clarinetists Jon Manasse and Alec Manasse, interpreting the Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043.
- A Duo of Jon Nakamatsu and Jon Manasse: Première rhapsodie (First Rhapsody), L. 116, CD. 124 by Claude Debussy.
- A world premiere finale from composer Michael Touchi.
