Come nosh on yummy treats, mingle with cool people, and meet the AMAZING Bukenya Muusa who is visiting Los Angeles from Gulu, Uganda! Bukenya is Founder and Director of Volunteer Action Network (VAC-NET). Bukenya will talk about his work with women in post-conflict Uganda. If you wanted to know more about how women making theater is used in war recovery efforts, microloan programs and literacy programs– this is an amazing opportunity to connect to with an incredible man and get to learn more about the region firsthand.
Introduction by comedian/ performance artist Kristina Wong, whose show “The Wong Street Journal” was researched in Gulu where she volunteered with Bukenya’s organization. Her show is The Wong Street Journal Los Angeles Premiere @REDCAT November 12-15.

There will be a fabulous pop-up boutique of jewelry, accessories and other handcrafted goods made by women in Gulu, Uganda for sale. Proceeds go to support VACNET’s programs.
