The Albany Consort begins celebrating 50 years of operation with this concert. Featuring a brilliant harpsichord concerto by founder Jonathan Salzedo’s uncle Leonard Salzedo, the program also includes J. S. Bach’s sumptuous Double Violin Concerto and Francesco Geminiani’s Concerto La Folia. Closing the gap between the 18th and 20th centuries is Charles Gounod’s Funeral March for a Marionette, better known as the Alfred Hitchcock Presents’ theme.
The 12 piece group is a string micro-orchestra with soloists. Principals for this concert are Jonathan Salzedo, Marion Rubinstein, and Laura Jeannin.
