3rd i’s 22nd annual SF International South Asian Film Festival presents groundbreaking cinema from India, Pakistan, France, UK, Canada, and the USA. Features take brave risks exploring issues, from class and religion between genders to complicated bonds between mothers and daughters. Documentaries offer up Voices from the Margins and an expansive view of the immigrant experience, and we shine a light on cinematic visions of resistance and nationalism. From witty comedies to nuanced dramas to sci-fi, 3rd i’s celluloid celebration of Women’s Stories and Queer Voices continues as strong as ever. The perennial favorite program, 3rd i Shorts, turns out an impressive array once again from international and local filmmakers.
