CCM’s internationally renowned string quartet-in-residence, Ariel Quartet welcomes famed clarinetist David Krakauer for a performance of Osvaldo Golijov’s The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind.
The internationally acclaimed Ariel Quartet rings in the New Year with a program of Debussy, Webern and Golijov on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
For this concert, the Ariel Quartet will be joined by guest artist David Krakauer. Widely considered one of the greatest clarinetists on the planet, Krakauer has been praised internationally as a key innovator in modern klezmer as well as a major voice in classical music.
Known simply as “Krakauer” to his fervent following, he is nothing less than an American original who has embarked on a tremendous journey transforming the music of his Eastern European Jewish heritage into something uniquely contemporary. On this program, Krakauer will join the Ariel Quartet for a performance of Osvaldo Golijov’s The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind.
