Bellevue House and Gardens is a 1910 Federal Revival mansion designed by architect and interior designer Ogden Codman Jr. (who is best known today for co-authoring an influential interior design book, The Decoration of Houses, with then-future novelist Edith Wharton in 1897). Currently, Bellevue House is a private residence belonging to urban planner and preservationist Ronald Lee Fleming, who designed the estate’s 12 formal gardens spread out over 3.5 acres, where Newport Classical concerts take place.
