Drummer and composer Jordan Glenn’s long standing trio, Wiener Kids perform new pieces as well as classics from their back catalog. The evening will conclude with the unique ten piece expansion, The Wiener Kids Family Band.
The brainchild of drummer and composer Jordan Glenn, The Wiener Kids is a trio featuring reed masters Aram Shelton and Cory Wright. Over the years, the band’s pallet has expanded to include gongs, tin cans, tibetan bowls, bunt pans, chromatic cowbells, angklung (bamboo rattles), triangles, car springs, a suitcase-vibraphone, glockenspiel and various whistles and drums. The Wiener Kids Family Band was formed in 2011 to explore the old Wiener Kids repertoire in a “big band” setting. The group features a cast of close friends and great improvisers, following the lead of Jordan Glenn’s curious baton.
