Stanford Live proudly welcomes the Midsummer Mozart Festival to Bing Concert Hall for its 40th season. The 2014 festival will be conducted by its founder, Maestro George Cleve, one of the world’s most persuasive Mozart interpreters.
This first week’s performance includes the Symphony No. 40 in G Minor and guest artist mezzo-soprano Tania Mandzy Inala performing the concert arias Chi sà, chi sà, qual sia and Vado, ma dove?
The second program, presented on Sunday, July 27, features Seymour Lipkin, performing the dramatic Piano Concerto in D Minor K. 466. Choral selections will be performed by the San Francisco Boys Chorus under the direction of Ian Robertson. The program also includes “Parto, parto” from the opera La Clemenza di Tito, sung by mezzo-soprano Anna Yelizarova.
