“Arguably the best ensemble of its kind in the world.” —Manchester Evening News
Founded nearly 25 years ago by the great Herbert von Karajan and composed of the wind players of one of the most celebrated orchestras in history, the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet is renowned for its astounding range of expression, interpretive clarity, and compelling conceptual unity. The Edinburgh Scotsman aptly hails the Quintet as “musicians of remarkable range—players accustomed to expanding lines so as to stretch the walls of awe-inspiring auditoriums, yet as chamber musicians able to share phrases of shivering intimacy.”
