From her start as a four-year-old prodigy on Harlem’s Apollo Theater stage at the urging of vocal legend Dinah Washington and her years as an in-demand session singer in the 1970s, to her life as an R&B hit maker and her recent salute to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Patti Austin is an American original. She performs three shows following her evening as honoree and SFJAZZ Lifetime Achievement Award recipient at SFJAZZ Gala 2024.
