Mersiha Mesihovic is instructing a contemporary dance class on Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3pm and Fridays from 2pm to 3pm.

Mersiha Mesihovic was born in Mostar, a city situated on the emerald-green river Neretva and known as the cultural capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When war broke out in 1993, her family was forced to sell all of their possessions in exchange for bus tickets and flee as refugees to Sweden. Since then Mesihovic has traveled the world and performed throughout Europe. In 2008 Mesihovic attended California Institute of the Arts on scholarship and received a BFA in Dance & Choreography under direction of Stephan Koplowitz. Mesihovic went on to work with LA’s finest choreographers: Rosanna Gamson, Colin Connor, Stephanie Nugent, Lindsey Lollie, Daniel Charon, Jose L Trujillo, Anne C Moore. She established CircitDebris in 2011 as a dance company and platform to formally conceptualize her collaboration with artists across disciplines and to express her passion for, and involvement in, historical and political issues.

In 2011 she was commissioned by musician/composer James Brandon Lewis to choreograph for his debut album release Moments as well as for music videos Ti Teces mi u Venama and Never Loved this Way by Oscar short listed songwriter Zana Messia.

In June 2012, Mesihovic was 1 of 10 young choreographers invited to participate in the 8th International Contemporary Dance Festival in Venice, Italy under direction of world renowned choreographers Ismael Ivo and Shobana Yeyasighn. Currently Mersiha and CircuitDebris are based in New York and are performing extensively in the city. In conjunction with her choreographic work, Mersiha is a dancer at H.O.M.E Base Dance Company and is working closely with Brooklyn based dance artists Amanda McNussen and Film Artist Victoria Sendra.

Mersiha is the Founder and Artistic director of Circuit Debris.
