Internationally renowned violinist and composer, 2x Grammy-winner and 2016 DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star, Mads Tolling is accompanied in this performance by versatile singer-songwriter-pianist Spencer Day for an evening of pure extravagance. Mads’ superb mastery and Spencer’s unique blend of blue-eyed soul, pop and film noir moodiness intertwine for a beautiful and refreshing take on classic songs from 1960s TV, film and radio. Mads with the Mads Men quartet and Spencer will make this a very special evening at Bach.
Mads is a former longtime member of Stanley Clarke’s Band and the Turtle Island Quartet. Mads has appeared with Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron, Paquito D’Rivera and Jean-Luc Ponty. Mads currently tours with his own band and is a part of Grateful Dead Founder, Bob Weir’s Wolf Bros Project.
Spencer Day is a #1 Billboard Recording Artist who was discovered on Star Search in the early 2000s, and he has since recorded for Concord Records and released six solo albums. Spencer is known for his stellar songwriting and his interpretations of the Great American Songbook, both of which will be on display at Bach.
