The Langston Hughes Project is a multimedia performance of Langston Hughes’ kaleidoscopic jazz poem suite, “Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz.” Featuring Dr. Ron McCurdy (Professor of Music, Jazz Studies, Trumpet at USC Thornton School of Music), the performance links words, sounds and images to recreate a magical moment in our cultural history, from the Harlem Renaissance to the Black Arts performance explosion of the 1960s.
