For the next 10 Mondays, will hear from guests such as DownBeat Jazz Artist of the Year Vijay Iyer, Syrian American rap star Omar Offendum, Broadway star of “Chinglish” Michelle Krusiec, acclaimed drag performer Daniel Jomama Jones, contemporary artist Daniel Joseph Martinez, much-heralded Latino dancer/choreographer Joel Valentin-Martinez, Whitney Museum curator Elisabeth Sussman, Muslim American hip-hop scholar Sohail Daulatzai, and many more!

You can join us either in person at Stanford University or online virtually through our WebEx online streaming. We will be sending out a link at 3:30pm (PT) via email newsletter, Facebook and Twitter for you to log in.

The lecture series/class will be co-taught by H. Samy Alim, Jennifer Brody, Aleta Hayes, Jeff Chang:

Dr. H. Samy Alim is Associate Professor of Education and, by courtesy, of Linguistics and of Anthropology. He is also IDA’s Faculty Director.

Dr. Jennifer DeVere Brody is Department Chair and Professor of Theater & Performance Studies and CCSRE Affiliate: Cultural Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Race Theory, Performance Studies

Aleta Hayes is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, performer, and lecturer in the Dance Division of TAPS. She is also the Director of the Chocolate Heads Movement Band.

Jeff Chang is Executive Director of the Institute for Diversity in the Arts and an award-winning author and journalist.
