Award-winning pianist Helen Sung brings her Quartet+ with guest violinist Jenny Scheinman. Sung is a virtuoso pianist who has seamlessly fused her classical background into her current passionate swinging sound. A 2021 Guggenheim Fellow, Sung graduated from the the inaugural class of the Thelonious Monk Institute and was a winner of the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition. Her latest album, Quartet+ with special guest Harlem Quartet garnered a 4.5 star DownBeat review and inclusion in its “Best of 2021 Albums” list. Sung has worked with such luminaries as Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis, and Cecile McLorin Salvant. Scheinman has produced several critically acclaimed albums, including 12 Songs, named one of the Top Ten Albums of 2005 by The New York Times, and collaborated with artists such as Norah Jones, Sean Lennon, Paul Motian, Bill Frisell and Allison Miller.
