What better way to nurse your weekend hangover (or for the teetotalers among us, the plain old blues) than with some monsters of noise and, yes, pancakes?

Vulcanus 68 is a return to the roots of outlaw electronic music. When there was dirt on the floor and grease on the tapes.Taking their cue from the 60s/70s renegades outside the academic limelight such as Tod Dockstader,Richard Maxfield, Kenneth Gaburo and Basil Kirchin, Vulcanus 68 bring their own dark 21st century vision to the outskirts of electronic composition. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Vulcanus 68 is at its core, the founders of Gigante Sound; Jared Blum (Blanketship, Beaks Plinth, Talking Book) and Dominic Cramp (Evangelista, Borful Tang, Qulfus, Talking Book)

Organ of Qwerty John Hanes, veteran bay area drummer (Chrome, Romeo Void, Henry Kaiser, etc…) makes weird noises on his laptop under the name Organ of Qwerty.

Fletcher Pratt (Canada) has been working in the realm of experimental music since 2004. Since then he has been operating a cassette label called Midori Records, with many releases of his own projects and other artists from around the world. Among his various projects is an ongoing tape collage series called Mind Gunk, and in 2008 he performed a live version of it at the send + receive festival. He has since become immersed in the world of modular synthesizers, and in recent years he has incorporated live video into performances using analog video synthesizers, often synchronizing the audio and video for a hallucinatory effect.

Bullshit Detector is out of the ruins of Detroit’s The Allied premiere 80s punk. Featuring key mohican Mic Nasty on “instrument” the boundaries of jazz & sound explorations through technical hazards & satellite broadcasting are used in ways that fluxes new age verses full blown out road warrior apocalypse trash-hell.

Godzf8r is Aaron Oppenheim, an American-Canadian Canadian-American currently based in Oakland, who improvises sounds from his laptop. His music straddles the line between noise, drone, and glitch, always emphasizing liveness and in-the-momentishness.
