Axel Schmitt (CSMA Faculty, piano) takes on the herculean task of performing the complete piano sonatas of Beethoven. This is the third in the series of concerts leading up to the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in 2020.
Ludwig van Beethoven wrote his 32 piano sonatas between 1795 and 1822. Although originally not intended to be a meaningful whole, as a set they compose one of the most important collections of works in the history of music.
