More Information
P-funk originals and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic bring their eclectic funk, soul and R&B sound to the Grove.
Opening the show is San Francisco’s own “house band,” Bayonics, with a danceable blend of hip-hop, reggae, Latin, and funk music.
Bayonics will premiere a new work as part of the Festival’s local artist commission series, “Interplay: Artists in Concert with Nature.”
About George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
George Clinton was a major player in the evolution of R&B in the 1970s with his bands Parliament and Funkadelic. Met with the Disco Degradation of the early 80s and a series of royalty battles, Clinton’s iconic soul-turned-funk sound lives on today as George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, with influences from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone.
