Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars followed by a live musical performance by Everyone Is Bowie with visuals from White Light Prism
David Bowie’s final electrifying performance as Ziggy Stardust in 1973 at London’s Hammersmith Odeon Theater. The feature length film captures the aura surrounding one of the most unusual stars of the contemporary music scene. Framed by a smattering of behind-the-scenes footage, the bulk of the film concerns the actual concert, notable as the final time that Bowie would perform as his gender-bending alter-ego Ziggy Stardust persona, an announcement that, at the time, led many fans to mistakenly believe Bowie was retiring altogether.
The digitally remastered glam-rock classic features numerous songs like “Ziggy Stardust,” “Moonage Daydream,” “Changes,” and “Space Oddity” from the albums Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane and other Bowie albums, as well as a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat.”
Everyone Is Bowie with Visuals by White Light Prism
Everyone Is Bowie is a conceptual tribute project to David Bowie by Oakland-based art-rock quartet Everyone Is Dirty in collaboration with visual projection artist White Light Prism. Frontwoman Sivan Lioncub takes creative guidance from Bowie’s spirit-animal while transmitting Mick Ronson’s wavelengths with her exotic electric-violin antics. Together with Christopher Daddio on guitar, Tyler English on bass, and Tony Sales on drums (whose father and uncle comprised the rhythm section of Tin Machine), they utilize their unique instrumentation and raw power to create electrifying interpretations of Bowie’s music.
