On tour from Cuba, Legendary Cuban percussionist and Director of the Group, Klimax, will give a drum and percussion clinic at the Community Music Center.
Klimax will perform at Yoshis SF on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21 and 22. The group Klimax is known for strongly innovating Cuban son. The group created by Giraldo Piloto Baretto, nephew of the great percussionist Guillermo Baretto. Giraldo Piloto recognizes his uncle’s style and touch as the main influence and the spine of his music. Klimax’s music is characterized above all by its jazzy accent, not like Irakere but perfectly integrated in the typical timba sound that prevails in Cuba nowadays. That’s what makes Klimax very special, different from the rest of the Cuban groups.
